Well I finally got my blade from Balibalistic. This is one sweet bali. I've never had a bali with IKBS before, man what a difference it makes. This thing is as smooth as it gets. She's just a bit shorter ('bout 1/2 an inch) than a 42 and I don't have a scale but I think it's just a hair heavier. ATS-34 blade with titanium handles spacers and latch. The handles are slightly thicker than my 42 and more rounded as well , which I really like. It's very well balanced IMO and flips as well if not better than my other balis.Oh, I almost forgot, she's sharp as shit. you could shave with this thing I haven't yet decided whether or not I'll flip it or just keep it as a show peice for a while. I'm just too afraid to drop the thing right now and I've got a few others that keep my fingers busy for the time being. I'll include some pics of it along with my humble collection for size comparison. Please keep in mind that my photography skills do both Shawn and this knife a complete injustice. It really has to be seen/felt in person to understand how sexy she really is Balibalistic has posted much better pics over at BFC but I didn't want to use pics that weren't my own.





now if I could just find a 43 and a 47 to round out that last pic, I could die a happy man

that's a Bradley Mayhem. . The handle shape and the fact it's a little shorter takes some getting used to. That thing is super tight, no blade/handle play whatsoever. If you ever wanted a bali to flip quietly, this is the one. I don't know if it's the PB washers that make the difference, but it's a really smooth flipper.

God I love his knives.

Although, and don't stone me to death for sayin this guys, I would REALLY like to start seeing some variety in the handles of his knives.

I may be a little off with the numbers, but I'm pretty sure he said 400-450 for titanium handles and 385-400 for g-10 overlays on the handles. I may be off as I said, but I'm sure these numbers are pretty close. As far as the handles go, I got one that was already made ( he was experimenting with anodization) so I had no say in the final product. They are called customs because that's what they are, if you're on the list and would like something different for your handles (or blade style, blade steel, over all length, ano colour, edge bevel), all you have to do is ask. I'm sure Shawn would be happy to accomodate you.

Oh yeah...believe me, I've already talked to him about what kind of knife he's gonna be making for me.

And that's a LOT cheaper than I had anticipated them being. I'm gonna go ahead and get the TI handles.....

im also gonna go with the titanium, and see if he can anodize in a different color for me. hope i dont bug the hell out of him when he sees how specific im going to be with my ideas for it.......im also gonna spring for the ikbs. im going for the ultimate flipper!
