New Bear Ops Trainer

This new trainer came in today.

I bought it in support of the community, based upon who designed it.

It is very good.

For those who want a trainer or cannot have a live Balisong, then this is for you. I cleaned and oiled it. I had to sand the blade and handles, though. I prefer smooth handles. If the live blade is any representation, this Bear Ops Balisong will make a solid EDC, as well as an excellent flipper. This one has bushings and PB washers so it's smoother than a 51. It's thicker and a smidge wider than a 51.

This will give a 51 a run for the money. It will put the nail in the coffin for the 53 and it will serve as a wakeup call for the Kimura line who only perpetuate the same 3 blades.

Thanks to LooseyFur and Knifezoid!

I thought it didn't have bushing in it? If it's really smoother than the 51, that's pretty awesome, especially coming from Bear. Can't wait to get my hand's on one of the live blades.

Get on BladeHQ, sign up for when it's released. I hope you're fast.

Re: New Bear Ops Trainer

I made a video showing how this compares to the 51, 42 and Kimura.

Man I think this is my next purchase... something I can carry around and mess with without worring about legality and or safety for the most-part. The video looks great and I'm sold on this thing. This thing really flips better then a 51 ? Any other opinions guys.

Cheers

Re: New Bear Ops Trainer

It's heavier than a 51 with longer handles. The weight feels more ideal given the larger size. It's not clumsy like other G10 handled Balisongs I have owned like the Habanera or the 53. I know I have had another all G10 Balisong but I cannot remember what the fuck it was.

No one else has one? I'm surprised.

I prefer this over the darn 40TR. I can't wait to get the black live blade. With the built in clip it will be a great knife to carry for utility. Because it's not expensive, I won't worry if I lose it. The clip sticks well in the pocket or on a belt. Because it's rough, it doesn't slide off like an arc angel or BM MC Balisong.

I don't regret getting this, the least bit. It's definitely better than the K2-7 because of the dimensions.
