Good under $150 balisong

I am planning on buying my first middle priced balisong soon and can't decide which one to get, I prefer heavy-ish knives however I don't know whether a Kimura will be too heavy or not. My current balisong is a BM43 clone which I don't know the exact weight of, but it feels right (I would guess it is somewhere around 5oz).
The balisongs I am considering are:
-Bradley Kimura IV
-Bear Ops B200
-Bear Ops B400
-DDR American Patriot "Wafflesong"
These seem to be the only balisongs that seem good in the price range that I have found. What are your opinions on these balisongs and which would be the best one to buy? Also, if there are any other balisongs in this price range that I haven't mentioned, It would be great to hear about them.
Much appreciated,
Carl

Re: Good under $150 balisong

Well I have 2 kimuras a 4x clone and have handled my friends b200, and let me tell you, the b200 had the worst quality out of all of them. The whole knife just seemed like it was slopped together. That being said it wasn't a bad flipper. I would highly recommend a Kimura though, amazing tolerances, great build quality and amazing warranty. Weight wise you're most likely going to like it because it weighs in at around the same as the 4x clones (albeit it is a slightly shorter knife). I've never handled a waffle song but it has the possibility to cut you while closed, the kit doesn't have a warranty (I'm pretty sure), and if you are afraid of too heavy knives it weighs in at 6.2 oz. One other knife that you could get around $150 would be a used 51, and although its light I got used to it fairly fast (even after learning on a Kimura). All in all I would definitely recommend a Kimura, I loved that knife so much, and its so affordable I bought 2! Its all just my 2 cents though, and everyone has their own preferences. Good luck picking a knife! :TU:

Re: Good under $150 balisong

Thanks for the reply, Think I may get a kimura now, as i've been hearing almost only good things about them. The b200 does look a little shoddily made. Do Kimuras break easily? I live in the UK so I most likely wouldn't be able to get one repaired if it broke.
Thanks,
Carl

I have put my Kimura through untold abuse, and its still just as good as the day I bought it. They're built like tanks!

If you can break a Kimura... Hats off to you. ;)

About the worst that can happen is you might lose a screw, but even then you can get replacements.

Re: Good under $150 balisong

If they can stand the abuse you guys hurl at them, a smurf like me can't do much damage  been straying away from kimuras ever since I saw Calvin's video where he got bit real bad, gotta sack up I suppose  anyone know if Johnny is still selling the kimuras? Contacted him a few times through pm and email and haven't got a response.
Thanks,
Carl

You'll get bit real good by any good balisong. His just happened to be a Kimmie!

Just started flipping? Hard to find decent Balis in the $30-$60 range? The Search Ends Here!

Don't hold out for a BM42! Take that $400+ you are planning on spending and go get in line for an Alpha Beast! You won't be disaponted!

Keep in mind, even though you'll mess up a lot, it doesn't mean you'll have freak accident cuts like that often at all. I just got a real good gash on my index finger for the first time in months, but I get minor fresh cuts just about every day.

Re: Good under $150 balisong

Yeah I realised that after I started power aerials, thought I was gonna cut my hands up a lot, but the most I've got is a few little stab wounds lol, and yeah malcolm, I just mean like its pointless having your Bali straight razor sharp when you're learning, rather have it at a compromise between healing time and severity of the cut rather than having inch deep cuts that heal in a relatively short space of time, still sharp enough to bite like a bitch

Re: Good under $150 balisong

I flip as sharp as possible, but that's just my preference. I'd rather have fast heal times and get good feedback from the knife on even the smallest errors.
