The reason I bring this up is because two flippers happydonut and feenx started flipping at around the same time that I did but their both more advanced than me. So i am wondering is this from natural talent or practice time. At max I practice an hour maybe an hour and half a week. Just curious.

At least an hour or an hour and a half a day. I flip while watching movies, watching tv, reading, surfing the web (I had to stop to type just now), etc.
I may have picked up my first bali over ten years ago, but honestly, I only really started flipping two years ago, and only seriously in the past few months.
Re: How much do you practice?
I've only been flipping for about 4-5 months as well..
And I practised for an hour a day but these days I can only do it on weekends. For about an hour each day as well.

Re: How much do you practice?
thanks for the compliment.
I mean it's been 3 months, but i've been practicing seriously for 2 months, around the 3rd month and to this day, it's mellowed out. I only get to flip maybe about an hour to two hours a week as well. Various reasons. one being my friends have started to notice my cut up hand and have been calling me emo. believe me, it gets annoying after around... the first time. second being everytime i flip, i run the risk of my parents walking into room and yelling at me. they still haven't gotten used to the fact that i listen to metal let alone that i've been playing with knives and probably never will. i have to flip secretly and there's only a few times during the day-week i can actually flip without the fear of getting caught. pretty ridiculous i think...

Re: How much do you practice?
Yep...the reason it's weekends only is because my flipping annoys the hell outta my mother...
And she doesn't like the whole idea...
So I have to flip when she's not there, lol.

Re: How much do you practice?
ive been flipping seriously for 5-6 months now, and i dont spend too much time really practicing, maybe a couple hours a week, but there also isnt a day that i dont flip. i just screw around with it whenever i have a second i can touch a bali. but actually practice hard core, only when i have a new trick im trying to polish up.

Re: How much do you practice?
it varies, some weeks, I flip almost constantly, other weeks I just dont flip at all; I even quit the balisong for a while, but hooked up again
now that I live partially on my own(just at home in the weekends) I flip hard core in weekends and flip less in or not on week days
I'm certainly not a natural, there are several easy tricks I still can't do

Re: How much do you practice?
The hours I work are pretty ridiculous so I don't get to flip very often. I might get in two hours during the work week but I try to get in another two or three on the weekend.

Re: How much do you practice?
I figured for the most part an individuals skill level came from practice or at least handling the bali on a relatively consistent basis. Guess I need to just start flipping more.

Loosey.
Yeah I always pictured Loosey doing wild aerials while he was at work. That's got to be the reason he's so good at them.
Re: How much do you practice?
Wow.
I feel honored to be mentioned in a thread.
I practice anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours a day.
I just have a knack for tricks.
It only took me twenty minutes to get the y2k down and a day of practicing to get the Behind the Eight Ball and Helix trick. The only trick that has taken me mroe than a day to get is one from 8thsinner's video and REM's Equinox IBTC trick....Ergh!
