Re: Training Sessions

finally got most of the kinks worked out of those double thumb rollovers. I just need to speed them up a little. As always, please criticize if you feel the need, I don't mind :) .

Re: Training Sessions

Good job dude...
yeah all you gotta do is give it a HARD push and rotate your hand around to get the rollover...

Re: Training Sessions

yeah, it's easier said than done. I've got most of the bugs worked out, just gotta perfect the timing on the second spin. slowly I can do it, when I try fast my timing's a little off still and it just goes flying. I'll get better, trust me ;)

Re: Training Sessions

I love uncut vids. Gives a better sense of a person's style.

So, criticisms and what-not. I liked your roll-over combos. A+ But, I'll say the same thing I say to everyone. :D More basic stuff. But that's just what I like. More samurai, less wu-shu. ;) But I guess flashy is what bali-flipping is about. So nevermind what I'm saying.

Also, quality control may be one of J5's best tracks. I was rapping along, messing up the words, like the chubby white midwesterner I am. Man, I love J5. Been too long since I toured the backroads with a schwag J, rockin' out to J5. Stupid adulthood.

Re: Training Sessions

I am OVERJOYED to finally see some videos like yours up here spydie!

TBH....I've been wanting to do the same with a lot of my practice sessions just for people to nit pick on, ya know?

I'll get around to it sometime today. Albeit....it's only going to be raw video since I'm not able to do any (decent) editing at the moment.

Thanks for the thread spydie!!!!

Re: Training Sessions

all the compliments are greatly appreciated guys. As for the more basic stuff, I know. I'm workin on it. One of the coolest things in balisong in my opinion is some basic flipping linked together with a quick helicopter( just one rotation or two), Blasto's slow motion combo vid is a good example of what I mean. I love the way that stuff looks more than helix type combos. I still love to learn new tricks but I really have to work on linking stuff together and trying to get away from my repetitive habits. I've gotta incorporate a little more old style stuff, old school is awesome, both in balis and music! I've still gots lots of learnin to do, that's why I love when you guys comment in this thread. Good comments or bad, it's all good to me, I try to apply whatever you guys suggest. Everyone here has a different style and being able to take a little something here and there from everyone's experience/bag o' tricks will help me keep my style from having too much of one thing or another.

Re: Training Sessions

was pretty bored today, and instead of complaining about no new bali vids on the tube ( except for that guy with the MDP typhoon, is he smooth or what?), I figured I'd make my own. It's all stuff I'm really comfortable with, but with a toque on. There was some new stuff in here, but FATOC is a comin' so I thought I'd keep it for another time. Don't mind the music, the lyrics are shit but I like some of this guys beats. sounds like a douche, but the french chix around here go crazy for this guy. There is some good french rap out there, but when you start blending english in there just for the hook(chorus), it loses all credibility with me. The only reason it's even in here is I knew youtube wouldn't pull it, not too many people know who he is.

Re: Training Sessions

lol that's awesome dude, i don't have the guts to do aerials while wearing a blindfold yet, but i might do it to I guess like you said, get a good feel of my bali.
And don't worry about the music, i don't know if i'm just being crazy or what not, but usually when I listen to a song, i just listen to the beat, or in my case, metal, i listen to the guitars, drums, and if a particular song strikes my interest, that's when i look up lyrics. but they're usually ridiculous so i try not to pay attention to lyrics.
