I don't know if this has been mentioned before (did not see it here).
TIP: Your knife does not always have to be open for aerial practice. I will sometimes just keep the knive in a closed, locked position and throw it around. Gives me a good feel for the knive (knew knives in particular) and also improves hand-eye coordination. I found that i catch aerials much more confidently and i feel more in controll of the way i want to land the aerial (open,closed,ice-pick etc.) Yeah so that was my tip hope it helps out a few guys solve some aerial issues.

Don't be afraid to twist tricks and modify them in to something nonstandard. You might discover something kickass.
This pertains more to something that was a personal issue of mine, but i liked to do full twirls really high up on the handles, and I'd get a ton of little cuts just from pinching my middle finger in the hinge. If you have this problem, just move down on the handles, towards the ends.
Everybody gets cut. I know that now

TIP- Try any and all tricks u can. don't see one and think "man i cant do that" just give it a shot the worst that can happen is u fail, then u just try again. think of the bali as an extension of your hand creating the art your mind paints, bc flipping is an artform.

I'm still new to flipping but I think the best pieces of advice I could give are...
1). Sack up. Just go for it.
2).Don't underestimate yourself.
3). If you have never been cut and are fearing it, let yourself get cut once. I was a lot more timid till I dropped my knife straight into my foot on accident. After the first time you get cut you will just say "Fuck it" and try bigger stuff, or at least I did.

I don't see why people are scared of getting cut.
The first day i had my CCC i cut myself 10, 15 times.Nothing major though.
If your going to play with a knife, expect the worse.

Seen calvinnations cut? Its a little worse than a cut from a dull ccc. Thats what I'd assume people are afraid of.

You're all a bunch of pansy flowers.
When I get cut I like it. And that's how it used to be for every one of us!
I remember that we'd all flip through the pain. Fuck that gash, that gash ain't shit. Who needs life insurance when you have bali skillz? It was all a part of the process...
*sigh*
