scissoring aerial or not

ok im gonna go ouot on a limb here and say this goes here mainly because its a poll and the info on this section doesnt specify it has to be a challenge poll

Point is i have heard this arguement millions of time and while in the begining i would argue till i was blue in the face that scissoring is not an aerial the more i do scissor related moves the more i lean towards yes. while "scissoring" is refered to as a full twirl toss catch and pull into a full twirl, i cant help but want to sperate them into the things they are. as in scissoring is not the full twirl neccisarily but the toss and catch and only that particular part which is the "scissoring" or "scissor aerial." so yes thinking of it that sense for me at least i would have to say that i was wrong in the begining "scissoring" is technically an aerial

what do you guys think can we lay this question to rest?

Re: scissoring aerial or not

I think it is an aerial because you toss the knife, it flies in the air therefore it is a (mini) aerial.

Re: scissoring aerial or not

AH such rivoting replys

but do you think that the full on scissoring is part of scssioring or do you think that its just the toss and how you catch and pull that makes the scissor aerial?

Re: scissoring aerial or not

It is, but if you were to battle someone in an aerial challenge and all did was scissor you'd lose. I think the universal understanding of an aerial
is that the knife completely leaves your hand with noticeable separation and time spent airborne. Scissoring, palmspins, and the likes are aerials,
but not power aerials that will win you aerial showdowns. I think the community has separated unofficially technical aerials from power aerials
and judges accordingly.
