Wooden Floor?

Hey, I know its been a while since I posted, but I just moved into a new place and it has wood floors, any tips for flipping on wood? Any shit I can put down? Thanks.

This is where I do most of my flipping, epically if I'm trying to learn something new. The only time I use blankets over the floor is when I want a range of motion that would take the knife below, like waist level or so. I've tried standing on the bed but we've got a memory foam mattress - it just feels weird to stand on.

If you go with heavy blankets, you could maybe use a sheet the same color as your backdrop over top just to keep the color consistent. If you're going to be making videos often you might want to pick up one or two of thoes roll-up exercise mats. I have blond maple hardwood throughout my house and trust me, even the slightest drop leaves a mark that gives a wife bitching material for years.

It all depends on your knife, really. I have two, one sandwich construction and one Channeled. The sandwich takes a beating from my wood flooring, it messes with the screws something nasty and can do more damage to the handle flats.

Wheras the channeled has clattered to the floor dozens of times (I suck at flipping) and hasn't so much as a scratch on it.

Tough, channel balis shouldn't be an issue on hard wood floors. I'd be concerned about tile, though. And if you're using a sandwich, put down a rug or something soft to break its fall.
