you guys brought up some good points, i guess my expectations were too high...as what i envisioned putting out there was a top quality looking video to promote the art of flipping so that when people who are not familiar with balsiong see the video, they will see something of professional caliber and not just a cut and paste job to get themselves interested in the art.

i will still edit the video if you guys want me too....regardless of quality or backgrounds.
so if you want to use old footage or whatever..send it to me, preferably the raw files..but youtube would work as well.
so now that that is all taken care of...there shouldn't be any excuses from you guys to get me your footage...if you guys want it done..than lets get it done. should take an hour from the time i get all the footage to get the video done.

@cja..i never said everyones vids looked like crap...it just wasn't what i was looking for when editing a video...so don't feel insulted.

after reading my previous comment, i think i may have over reacted slightly. I appologize if i offended you. Im glad your still willing to do this at a slightly lower quality. You can be assured that everyone here is entirely grateful that your taking on this project, considering its bad history. I don't think your vision for the FA promo should be thrown out entirely. I would really like to see these promo's as a set date 2-3 times a year, or something like that. If people had a set due date to plan for like 4 months or so in advance, no one would have any excuse not to participate, even with higher standards for quality. Dont feel like you have to rush this or anything either. I dont want you to think that you have to cut corners and put out an inferior product because you were rushed. I just feel like its a bad time to ask for more after failing twice with less. It would definitely be worth contacting feenxfire. Im not sure where he left off, but im pretty sure he had collected a fair amount of footage from people. Some people many not want to use that footage and use new stuff, but who know's you may find something you wanna put in there. Anyways, good luck vincent, i cant wait to see it.


I almost forgot about this video. Not a bad idea to look at video's done in the past before starting another one. I also think its not a bad idea to ask cutlerylover to upload the finished product as this one was. That way your guaranteed shit load of people will see it.

hey thanks man...yeah, saw the vid awhile back.
i definitely won't be cutting any corners when it comes to editing.
I guess, my high expectations and stuff came from my years within cardistry manipulation....while you have to completely different styles of manipulation...in the card world...video and editing is placed at just as high of a priority as the moves themselves. So while my requirements may have sounded strict and off putting, it was just kinda the way i have been conditioned.
I have kinda realized that i really can't control camera quality or background settings unless i only film myself.
I do think that highly produced and directed vids can further the art of balisong and really make a difference and kindof begin a new era within the videos currently available....one of the things i always see, which i think can be improved upon is videos where they show the whole combo..and then the next half of the video shows the same combo again all in slo-mo..instead of playing regular speed and only slo-mo-ing the parts which highlight the combo.

i am still glad to edit this video...and i know for a fact that i can put out one of the best edited promotional vids out there....and for next time with some planning and if people can meet my requirements the video will be completely amazing and be able to mark a turning point in how bali vids are looked at.

i still know that this one will be good, and be able to fuck shit up...and i'm hoping that the next one will be able to tear the motherfucker down.

alright, setting a deadline for this. I'm without a camera for a couple weeks....so we'll set the deadline footage on nov.7th.

also thinking about going black and white for this vid...it will bring a little more continuity to the vid and blend it a bit better since everyone will have different backgrounds

also, what are your guys thoughts on format?....should people have their own parts?..or should it be a free for all, meaning if i have 4 different clips from a person, they could potentially end up being in the beginning of the vid, the middle and the end. I would only be showing your name on the first clip used. It should be pretty easy to tell who is who in the vid after the initial introductions.

you can take any footage by me you like. either rip it from youtube, or I can send it to you in the weekends when I am at my parents house, as my camera and computer is there(if it's still on there)
