The Flipping Arena

I'm liking the new manipulation sub forum....the art of manipulation is everywhere, and pretty much any object can and should be manipulated in an artful manner.
bali's, pens, dice-stacking, cards, chux, yo-yo's, zippos, pizza dough..etc. all these and more have a huge following of manipulators.

here is an old card manipulation video of mine....card flourishing/manipulation is completely different than magic..and it's sole purpose is dexterity and the ability to artfully manipulate the cards without any ties to magic or card tricks.
It's pretty much the equivalent of flippin a bali....only with cards.

Nice vid from the editing point of view. However, from the manipulation point of view I think a more sober edition would have enhanced much your talent.

Either 'The Grudge' or maybe the second Exercist. Yeah, I loved this vid, was very well done.
I think we need to all get our acts together and get Vincent the footage he needs for the
comp vid. It would give flipping a reputation with an edge.

thanks for the comments guys. card manipulation is pretty fun and is very open ended and pretty much limitless as to what is possible.
it's also, not very hard to get into..just takes alot of practice. There is a ton of learning sources from dvd's to books and such as well as some good tutorials on yt...however, just like with balis..it's hard to find good tutorials which are taught the proper way and give out credit where credit is due.

@logan...never messed around with poker chip manipulation, but i have seen some cool stuff possible with it.

true, this vid was more of a editing project and did end up winning a contest on a card forum which got me some decks of rare cards.
for a vid which showed off a bit more of my flourish skills rather than editing, i would have gone with this one.

as far as the clip with the creepy back bend down the stairs ... thats the first exerocist with addtional footage if I am not mistaken.

yeah that clip is from the original uncut exorcist movie. First time i saw that movie, in 81' or so..that scene really freaked me out.

That's a nice vid! I don't know how you make the card spin on your
thumb like that without it falling, that's crazy.

I really wanna get some better editing software and maybe a better
camera now. I would love to learn how to edit better and make some
higher quality bali vids.

Wow. Very nice. Having grown up playing cards and dabbled in even simple manipulation I have SOME idea of the dexterity that takes. Impressive to say the least. Thanks for posting!
