I'm not saying it's easy to do or anything, probably takes some skill, but
I think certain things when flipped just won't be as cool as others. That
guy would probably be really good at the balisong.

i watched the video a few days ago had mixed feelings about it then
I have to say i'm with knifezoid on this one scissors are a bit of an old lady thing,
don't really have the cool factor of a razor sharp Bali
I'm not knocking the guy what he did was pretty smooth :TU:

I like it, but it just seems way too limited. Sure he made a cool 30 second vid....but where do you go from there? I know a lot of people on here could flip a bali for probably half an hour without it getting repetitive.

back in the day balisong tricks were extremely limited as well. If 20 years ago some bali enthusiasts saw the shit that was being done today they would shit themselves. Same for skateboarding, one guy (Rodney Mullen) single handedly invented almost every single trick you see today, all on his own in his garage for the most part. As far as I''m concerned he is THE father of skateboarding, and he was banned from skating by his parents (hint, hint, nudge nudge Str8 ;) )
I'm not saying this will be the case with scissors( I'd bet it probably won't), but you never know .

Well it would be cool to see, and just as a little food for thought, I was bored between college classes and applied basic rollovers to an umbrella I bought from walmart. You can pretty much flip with any object you have laying around.

it seems to me that if nothing else, you can gain some hand eye coordination from doing stuff like that.
and coordination is good for everything, so maybe a bit of 'cross training' is good?

Yea, not nearly as skillful as a balisong. I'd say most guys here could do that in an afternoon's worth of practice.
