I bought a baliyo...

See, I got into flipping a few weeks ago. When the middle of August rolls around, I'll be heading off for college (Marshall U. in Huntington). I won a bid for a new baliyo on Ebay because college is a dick and expels for poss. of a weapon. So, I wanted to ask if...well, a baliyo is worth a damn at all. It's gotta be ridiculously lighter than my Kimura 2, but on the other hand, I should be able to learn aerials and other more dangerous moves a little easier, right?

It's really fun to mess around with while in class, although it does pose as a distraction to everyone else around you. The light weight is hard to get used to but it's still fun to just flip leisurely, although I would suggest getting a trainer because it wouldn't count as a weapon. :D

+1
i woulod say a baliyo is too light for "good" flipping, and a trainer would be a better thing to have, and techically wouldnt be a weapon and you *shouldnt* have a problem having one...shouldnt*...

I'd like to buy a baliyo, but they're a bit expensive in europe(and I obviously would need two).

too bad there are barely any good baliyo videos out there, the spyderco contests where abitrary stuff is being rewarded kills the flipping imo.

luckily:

I probably will get a trainer eventually, but I need to make sure that I won't get in trouble for it first. It's college. I can't get kicked out of that shit, lol
