Multitools

I started flipping with my warranty-voided Leatherman Kick multitool, and I was wondering how many of you have made flippable multitools/pliers.

I couldn't find any posts about them, so I figured I'd make a thread and ask.

On a side note, mine's outlasted two ccc's which combined cost more than my Leatherman, and it looks the same as it did the day I voided the warrenty.... 'Think multitools could make a good ccc alternative for beginners?

That's on my to-do list, don't worry!

Back to the multitools, in their defense, for thirty five bucks, it's not bad...
I can do every opening with it that I could with my mtech lookalike before it broke, not that it's a whole lot more than a few intermediate moves according to the wiki >.>;
Maybe I should put up a video.....

Anyway, it can really handle abuse, so I think it could make a decent cheap knockaround at least...

The problem is you don't get to feel what a knife is like with a multitool, at least you get that with a CCC. It's like trying to play baseball with a stick.

Just out of curiosity....Have you ever tried it, Skaunders?
I just learned behind-the-eightball with it.... :mrgreen:

Sure, it's not half as good as a nice bali, but it's still worth a try in my opinion:
-Cheaper than a nice bali, something easy to add to the collection
-Not many people would think anything of carrying a multitool in public
-It still works like a multitool, kinda useful....

Bottom line: No duh it's not the best flipper, you don't need to tell me a second time. :oops:
I'd like to formally withdraw my suggestion of it being a possible flipping knife substitute.

I wanted to throw this out there to see if anyone else was doing this and leave a suggestion for anyone with a unused multitool lying around. :twisted:

I tried it once on a buddies and it wasn't too bad but skaunder is right it just isn't the same as flipping a real bali but still it was fun for a minute or two.
