The road to greatness is paved with the broken and dismembered bodies of your enemies.. Lots and lots of them...

Pretty high priced anyway, but just for future reference, something like this would go in "Deal Spotting"

Re: 42's

I bought and traded off one the newer stock Benchmade 42s and the handles are rough. The construction is not the same as the ones even 5 years back. I was not a fan.

My main BM 42 is a T-latch 440C. It's smooth and durable. I have an anodized BM 42 154 CM with a sharpened swedge that I grabbed from a buddy on another forum - That one is smooth but double edged so I have to be cautious.

Re: 42's

So in all honesty who can compare the new run 42 with the older versions?

What exactly is Q.C. except for the 'Rougher Handles'?

I can not imagine they were able to change the design much at all since 5 years ago?

I took the new one out to do some basic maneuvers. It squeaked right out of the box. I oiled it. The hinges are fine. Fit was excellent. Just not a fan of rough feel of the handles.

Damn! I just saw a BM 42 go for $80 + $5 shipping! That's funny. It was on knife forums.

Re: 42's

There was a guy on benchmade forums had 6 NIB 42s he sold them all for $270. That is no typo they lasted less than 2 mins.

That's a reasonable price considering the mayhem is close in selling price to that.

Re: 42's

No he sold all 6 for $270, not each one. His original post was 1 for $50 or 2 for $90 so some guy paid $270 got all 6
