Custom Chainmaille

You read right fellows! Chainmaille made by hand right here in my workshop. I make anything that you could possibly want, pouches, to bracelets, to bras for the ladies. I will be posting pictures of samples as soon as i can take them. If you don't see what you want, send me a PM and we can discuss custom projects being made.

For now a sample of my work:

Chainmaille Coin Purse; $35 shipped, holds a can of soda inside
Made of 1/4", 14ga Galvanized Steel.
Image

26" Byzantine Neclace; $15 shipped, beautiful weave
Made of 1/4", 14ga Galvanized Steel.
Image

Fingerless Maille Gloves; $45 shipped, custom fit
Made of 1/4", 16ga Galvanized Steel.
Image

So, while some people only have the skills to make straight chains, i can make more or less anything you want, here is another example:
Maille Bra, price varies based on size
Made 1/4" 16ga Galvanized for the cups and 3/8" 14ga on the straps. all 4-in-1 euro.
Image

Anything that you see can be made out of Aluminum or Stainless, but prices will vary slightly. I can also do work in Titanium with a higher price due to cost of material. Color Accents are also available in Aluminum rings or Titanium, price varies on material cost.
And once again, i can make much more, this is just what i have pictures of. If you want something custom, let me know and we can talk about pricing and time frames.

Thank you for looking!

Oh, and if you have any questions, just ask i can answer any you may have

Re: Custom Chainmaille

Here is another piece I modeled after a kusuri fundo
the handle is full persian, the other end byzantine and the chain a 2-in-2.
Approximately 34" in length.

I can make one up for you and have it shipped for $40, with length of your choice

Re: Custom Chainmaille

Could you give some info on the last one? It doesn't look like it would do much good, with just the one ring holding the other ones together.

Re: Custom Chainmaille

that 1 ring is strong enough that i can't open it at all with the force of my hands pulling on either end of the chain.
i have hung from my kusari, which is 2 rings in it's weakest point, and i weigh a good 220 lbs. you don't have to worry about this stuff breaking unless you try

Re: Custom Chainmaille

How much more would it cost for anodized steels(if possible)? How long did it take to learn to do this? Rare to see good drape/form like that :respect:

Re: Custom Chainmaille

i can only get anodized colors in aluminum, titanium and niobium, and copper can be had with a colored enamel coating. price would vary based on the material going in this order Aluminum->Copper->Niobium->Titanium

edit: Stainless is available in black, at about 2.5 the cost of regular stainless

As for time, i'd imagine it would depend on the person, but i made a few small things in cub scouts when i was 10 or so. only in the past few months have i picked it up as a serious hobby.

Hope you all enjoyed these pics.

I use pinch cut rings when i experiment, as the cost is lower, when I make pieces for people, I never use pinch cut, always Saw Cut.

oh, and a side note, i went to look for my bali today only to find that my roommate left with it when he moved out  so, i am open to a trade for a short time until i can get a hold of one.
