Rust spots on my Kimura?

Maybe someone can shed some light on this, because I'm a little baffled.

My Kimura 4 is showing some signs of rust on the blade. The handles are fine.
It's far from humid where I live, and the knife sits on my desk when it's not in my pocket. The spots appear near the spine, far from the cutting edge but also where my fingers rarely touch.

I expected 13C26 to be a bit more "stainless" than this. Can anyone else comment?

Re: Rust spots on my Kimura?

The only light I can shed on this is I have the same thing heppen to pretty much EVERY Kershaw knife I own. I have no idea why, but to me it seems that their blades are very prone to pitting.

Not exactly sure why, but that's just my personal experience, sharp as a motherfucker out of the box, but pits easily.

Re: Rust spots on my Kimura?

bead blasted blades are very prone to rusting because the texture is more porous. They are going to require a bit of maintenance to keep them rust free
