My Arc-Angel is dying!

Well I done fucked up. I used naval jelly to clean my nice spear point aa due to the amount of rust buildup. Dumbass. Now the blade is dark where the jelly was applied, and looks ugly. What I did next was just use a ton of militec, hoping It'll protect it for the time being. I was personally thinking of having a blade coat of some sort applied in hopes to come to a permanent fix.

Any ideas?

Well, if you wanna make it a Bad-ass Black Arc Angel (just sounds bad ass), you could always go this route:

Re: My Arc-Angel is dying!

think about blueing it, i dont know if it would work because i dont know what type of cotating it has but....... it is a pretty easy proses to do and very cost effective , and an aa whith sliver handels and a black blade would be bad ass. good luck :TU:

Re: My Arc-Angel is dying!

you could give it a patina. It would probably look like the dark spots, but evenly over the whole blade. It would also act as somewhat of rust protection. There are guides out there for forcing a patina on carbon steel. But i still stick to my suggestion of black dlc coadted blade and purple anodized handles

The pictures really don't do it justice.. it looks different in person. I'll be sure to post up more pics when I mod it. I really like the Tungsten DLC on my kershaw blades, that's probably what I'll do. Not sure about forcing a patina.. not with this one to start. cja for purple anodized handles you mean like a really dark colored purple right? That would be sweet.

Re: My Arc-Angel is dying!

before doing any thing try neverdull it works great on rust and it might clean that up. if that dont work use jewelers rough start with red, brown green, white in that orderand polish the blade. if that dont bring it back dlc coating is great.

Re: My Arc-Angel is dying!

Naval jelly is an acid and has etched/patina the blade.Try some Flitz or Semichrome to remove the discoloration. Also you must neutralize acids.Soap and water, oil, etc, wont stop the acid from continuing to eat at the blade.Baking soda and windex(its the amonia) work well to neutralize acid.

Re: My Arc-Angel is dying!

To be honest, I don't think its that bad. If your really are that worried about symmetry, put jelly on the rest of it. I assume that would give it an interesting look. Maybe even an awesome mistake.

Re: My Arc-Angel is dying!

If your interested in a coating that will last and protect. I'd do the Titanium Nitrate coating. I believe you can get it in different colors. Bobby should be able to help you give him a call. This stuff lasts on our pistols.
