Best lube for balisongs

Hey guys!!

The only balisong that doesnt seem super smooth to me is my 42, I never had really good lubrication for it so every once and a while i put some wd-40 in there, I know there is better but what lube can I count on that will last longer than a day.

Is benchmades blue lube good?

Re: Best lube for balisongs

technically you want a grease or an oil i use gun oil but wd-40 is very bad it is designed to be a oil and grease remover so dont use that anymore

i used my gun oil as well, but i found it didn't last long with my 42, i've heard miltec has some good stuff, i use blue lube and it's really good. much thicker consistency so it lasts longer

How long does it last would you say, and is there a residue left over?

Re: Best lube for balisongs

3 weeks or so, i imagine the more u use it the less it lasts. it does leave a little residue...or flushes it out of the pivots, not sure which... o_0 but i just use a q-tip to clean it up

Probably nobody else uses it, but I use zoomspout. http://www.zoomspoutoiler.com/

It's ridiculously amazing (in my experience). I use it for everything.

I use pure white mineral oil on all of my knives. It's food safe too. :)

Re: Best lube for balisongs

I'm using white lightning from Buck and it works like a bomb. It last for a very long time (at least 2-3 weeks) and the effects are immediate. It might be an older product so I'm not sure if it is available. But if you can find that then your lube problems should be solved. I think benchmade also sells lube but I am not sure.

Another thing that's worked well for me is bicycle chain oil.
