Kwhat do you guys suggest I do about this? my K2 is developing tiny specs of surface rust..
Re: Kimura II Blade rust removal
Spraying it down with WD-40 then wiping it with some cloth or paper towels should clean most of the specs off. After that, just keep it oiled with some Miltec (or more WD-40).
Re: Kimura II Blade rust removal
ok thanks. would a DLC coating prevent rust? oh and I heard about something called electrolysis? anyone know anything about that?
Re: Kimura II Blade rust removal
seriouly your telling some one to use fish oil on their knife.... fail.
fucking eh.

Yes, I'm telling him to use WD-40 on his knife. It's cheap, effective, and makes a nice, mild lube.

Re: Kimura II Blade rust removal
While WD-40 will work to keep the blade clean...i don't know how effective it will be at removing the corrosion. It's a water-displacement formula (WD), and not really meant to clean. I'd go get some Fitz metal polish (ace hardware, etc) to clean the blade and remove the rust spots (I apply it with a q-tip). Then give it a nice coat of WD-40 to protect it.
