What he said ^^^^.

I wouldn't go fucking with the factory thread locker.

Mine was the same. I had some bicycle chain oil that I used which seemed to work O.K.

Also don't listen to the guys at bladeforums telling you to loosen it. It will get loose by itself once you start to flip it.

Re: Kimura II bite handle is stiff....

The problem wasn't that I needed to break it in. The problem was that I put masking tape on and some of it got in between the pivot screw. I soaked in WD40 today and flipped a little and the problem was solved. Please don't make any comments like,"Ha, that is what the pussy gets for taping is blade." I don't care if I don't have as much respect for learning to flip with tape. If I hadn't taped my blade, I would of seriously cut my hand numerous times but the taped protected me. Its not gonna hert me if you call me a pussy for taping my blade.

Haha loser that's what you get for taping your blade! Black tape works a bit better.

Hope you know that shit's gonna leave a nasty ass residue. You're really better off with masking or painters tape.

That's true, but he's already admitted to being too much of a pussy to actually flip a live blade so I didn't feel like beating the dead horse on that one....

Or stabbing. With a knife. That doesn't have tape on it.

I taped a blade a long long time ago with electricians tape and I don't remember it leaving a residue :/.

Re: Kimura II bite handle is stiff....

You're not a pussy for taping the blade. Well, actually, you are but that isn't the point of this message.
NEVER TAPE A BLADE
Weather it leaves residue or not, or if you want to resist cuts, don't do it. I've heard that it severly ruins your ability to flip if you use tape. You won't do as good because you've never had to worry about being cut before, and naturally you'll either not try to avoid it at all or over-protect yourself from hearing this, both crippling your ability to learn.

Re: Kimura II bite handle is stiff....

I learned with a trainer. I'm doin just fine considering I only flip maybe 3-4 hours a week. If you want to tape your blade, tape your blade. Just remember that the real thing IS sharp, and pay attention to when the taped blade hits you so you don't do it again. If you learn properly, the transition to a live blade should be easy.
