thanks man..is the blue box kit the same thing as the torx driver?
Re: loctite??
the blue box kit comes with torx bits in it. you get two for each size 6 bits in total. I think the sizes are 6, 8, and 10. They will fit any screw in any benchmade knife and should fit most other torx screws in other knives as well.

"Best" Loctite?
I Just got my first benchmade 42 about a week ago and after close to constant flipping I noticed the screws are getting a little loose. This isn't a problem I want to have on a regular basis and was wondering what would be the best version of loctite to use?
Re: "Best" Loctite?
LOCTITE brand 243 blue would be your best bet. DO NOT use permatex. i found that out the hard way.

Re: "Best" Loctite?
I was thinking that would be good, considering the lubricant. Thanks for the quick answer, any suggestions where to start looking for it? Been checking out the websites to some of the more major stores (lowes, home depot, etc..) and seems like none of them carry it.
Re: "Best" Loctite?
if you cant find it at lowes, maybe try autozone or some other auto parts store. i get mine at a local industrial fastners shop.

Re: "Best" Loctite?
I get mine at the local hardware store. It's usually in with the superglues and epoxies and whatnot.
Re: "Best" Loctite?
i actually just bought some from lowe's on sunday. its in the paint section by super glue. It took me forever to find it. They have blue and red at the one i went to. Its like 5-6 dollars a tube

Re: "Best" Loctite?
Any of the Loctite's that say "Blue" on it should work fairly well. I was using 242 before I got my "blue" shit and that worked just fine too. BUt I ran out...

Re: "Best" Loctite?
it's kind of delicate work (but then again so is using loctite) but I've recently been using thread-locking tape (plumbers/teflon tape) and it kicks ass. It holds just as good, you can remove screws and replace them and most times you won't need to re-apply. It's a bit tricky 'cause the screws are so small but it's well worth the effort in my opinion. just my .02

Re: "Best" Loctite?
I can't take credit for the idea, someone else mentioned it on bladeforums a while back
