Does anyone have any techniques that are proven to work? Im getting spots on my 51 and my Kim. i want to clean them without hurting the blade.
Re: Rust removal
I use some tooth paste and a paper towel on my K2, it doesn't wear on the finish but I would recommend drying it off soon after and putting some oil on it soon or else it will rust up quickly.

Scotch brite it.... The green scrub pads in your kitchen (or toothbrush) and use acetone (finger nail polish remover) or alcohol to get the rust off. Then wipe the blade with an oiled rag. Remoil or some type of gun/knife oil.

Re: Rust removal
Are you sure that wont ruin the bead blast on the kimura? and is that food safe? I use my K2 to cook with when Im on the run and I dont want to kill my self.

I experimented and WD-40 Took it off Right away! and it prevents rust too!
I just wipe the excess off and you don't notice any goo/slime/oil at all. Stuff is amazing.
