removing black coating

removing black coating

i have a 51 black blade and i hate the black coating. it looks stupid when i flip and its wearing off. :cuss: how can i remove it without ruining my knife? ive looked it up and everyone says bead blast, which i cant really do. can i do it with just sandpaper or anything? :?:

you can attempt to polish it but i wouldnt suggest it

well if i mess up could i just buy a blade from benchmade? the blade cant cost that much.

i think its 40 bucks to get a new blade and you have to send it to them..... in oregan

well thatd be a pain in the ass. if i decided to sand it off would i need a finish done on the blade?

Just use the search button on the forum, and type in blade polishing tutorial. Or do it on youtube. I know mittens made a tutorial on it and his blade came out nice. Not hard dog.
