if you have an idea for a challenge or you have some logistical challenge questions (ie. format rules etc.) please post them here.

if you think you have a neat challenge you want to pose to the members but you dont want to take part in the challenge post it here to be viewed and perhaps another member will adopt your challenge and issue it.


example:

I was just thinking of posting and "edc challenge"
rules would be to create a video at least 60 seconds long going over your everyday carry, explaining what you carry and why, how you gear yourself and what you typically carry... like your keys cell knifes multitools and stuff... show off your gear and be sure to show your balisong you edc!

may the person with the coolest vid, neatest gear and best presentation win.

this is a multiple user challenge with a 2 week time limit to post videos from the date of the challenge.

OR:
lets say I was interested in SEEING a type of challenge but not in hosting it, I would post the challenge idea here for other users to review and perhaps someone would decide to issue it.

like : best 60 second routine must include 2 aerials 3 days to post no trainers!

Yeah, this is kinda cool. I actually had a few 'anyone vs. anyone' challenge ideas that I wanted to see but couldn't participate in at the time. Can't remember what they were though.

Oh, and also, here's another idea I've been kicking around...

1 person challenges. That doesn't quite sound right, but...

Say someone claims they can do some impossible trick, but dammit, no video to prove it. Maybe he's serious, maybe he's full of crap - I'd really like to find out. Now there's not much chance that I could do the trick (even though I do like doing 'impossible' things) because I wouldn't even know how, so there's no point in me challenging him to a one on one challenge.

So, I just challenge him to do the trick and make a video of it in a reasonable timeframe. If he denies the challenge he gets dismissed as an arrogant windbag, but if he takes the challenge and makes the video, it goes to the polls. The poll options would be 'pass' or 'fail.' If we see that he can actually do the trick, we pick 'pass,' otherwise we pick 'fail'

If this guy in question passes the polls, he gets 15 points. Otherwise he loses 15 points.

heres an idea:

of the 51 members we have there are about 10 who regularly accept challenges and compete in ladder matches...

so to the other 41 members my idea is for them to grow a pair and issue a few challenges.


challenging WILL make you a better flipper. Just ask anyone who's put the time and practice into their challenge video.


excuse one : no cam .. um sry but brokenbrains pretty much busted that one wide open.

excuse two: no time, well I work like a mad dog and have like 3 girlfriends and I have still found time to hook up a few challenges...

excuse three: I am not good enough to challenge... bullshit besides if you post up a challenge open to anyone and its a noob challenge theres a special ladder for that besides if your challenge is like best helix or something the advanced flippers wouldnt be interested in accepting anyhow so you get noobs looking at those types of challenges and not someone whos got the skills to stomp your ass all over the board.


so thats my idea... you've nothing to lose

Details : We have a tournament function on this board and have'nt used it to date... Seems like things are slow in the challenge department right now so I though I would pose we have a tournament and the ultimate winner gets the book

sounds cool. would there be different types of combos for each part of the tourney?
like, best aerial, best 10 sec combo, best 30 sec combo, best twirl, best pass.........that sorta shit?

anyone have any ideas for a "retro" challenge, using older videos made before the arena was present online?

who thinks we need titles for the first three ladder spots... just for fun?

maybe something Feudal sounding... or like martial arts ranks?

based or relating to something from books and or comics / manga

shit, based on a movie or series for that matter, or maybe something that touches on military roots?


anyhow you know just for fun it would be nice to have a little something like a custom avatar that repersents it or a color or some status.
