ABANDONED: DumbNinjaDude vs anyone under 1 year experience

I haven't been practicing like I should the past few months and I'm starting to lose it. I figured what better motivator than competition? So anyone with under a year of experience flipping in general please.

At least 15 sec, no longer than 45.
Freestyle
No specific tricks, just a what-ever freebie

I'm using my only butterfly, a shitty jaguar classic. Use what ever you want.

Sweet! Videos will be due at 12:00 am Janurary 1, 2012. This will give us time to practice and may give me time to get a better knife than 9 month old jaguar. The handles are tearing apart! Haha, best of luck!

I'm going to extend the due date for the vids seeing as I have nothing to practice with. Let's make it the first Saturday after Janurary 1

Understandable. Gives me a little more time to smooth out my technique, too. Anyway, hope ya enjoy that Kimura when you get it, and see ya on the 7th!

I got my K6. it's sharp as fuck and I'm still not used to it. The due date will stay the same but I doubt I'll be able to bring my full game. It's such a great knife. I tried taping the blade but it cut right through it like it wasn't even there so I can't even do that. I've got a few minor cuts but nothing too bad. I just wanted to give you an update on what's going on. May the best flipper win.

Re: DumbNinjaDude vs anyone under 1 year experience

I am going to have to do something with this challenge... I was practicing my helix and the knife decided to flip on my so on the second thumbroll it was the blade that ran around my thumb rather that the back of the handles... so I think it'd be best to put the challenge on hold for a bit. Just disregard whatever due date and when my thumb heals I'll post a new date. This has never happened to me before so I don't know how long it'll take for it to heal. I hope you understand.

Re: DumbNinjaDude vs anyone under 1 year experience

Much better. Healed a lot faster than I though it would, but now I've gone and sliced the side of my index. Oh well... I can still flip though, it just hurts a little.

Re: DumbNinjaDude vs anyone under 1 year experience

You might try dulling the blade just a little bit. That way it's still sharp, but it doesn't lay your hand open every time you fuck up. A buddy of mine did that to his k5 when he got it. By the way, how you like your kimura now that you got it?
