Modifying my twist

I ordered some proper pivot screws, and PB washers from knifekits, in the mean time I've removed the coating from the top and bottom of the handles.

I am unsure what to do next, thinking about removing the coating from either just the sharpened and swedge part of the blade, everything but the sharpened and swedge part of the blade, or everything but the sharpened part. Any ideas?

Re: Modifying my twist

I would just get rid of all of it. Then later on if you want you can re-coat it. Looks like it's coming along pretty good though :TU:

Need some sandpaper to get the area between blade and swedge where it really narrows, it's not perfect, but I think it came out fairly well so far. anybody have reccomendations for how to shine the stainless I scratched to hell to a mirror finish?

sandpaper...hand sand down to the finest grit you can buy. Then bust out the dremel with the buffing wheel and some polishing compound, or if you have access to a real buffer (6", 8", 10",) then buff until it's as shiny as you want it to be.
Could be worse...I could be on the short bus with the other donut punchers.

Blade didn't come out so great. The twists took about half an hour each, if not more. And still didn't come out anywhere near perfect. But that is all I am going to put into this for the time being. I can't wait until my pivots come, I really want to flip this thing.

Re: Modifying my twist

i have not found replacement pins for the twist yet, but i did find some that might work for my modifications( adding 1/4" to the thickness of the handles)
the dimensions i came up with for the twist pins are dia.116" x .3185" & dia.1535" x .333"
