Kimura Bushings

Anyone know if it's possible to put bushings in a Kimura V. I have my Kimura all taken apart right now so thought this would be a good thing to look into. I believe the blade thickness is .123" (3.12 mm). And damn, does anyone else dread taking apart their Kimura because the screws are so hard to take out? It takes me like 5 times as long to take apart as my AA did.

Re: Kimura Bushings

The Kimura is actually a bali that doesn't need bushings. I've always found it to be very smooth already and with just about zero play out of the box. It's possible, but would probably turn into more hassle than it's worth.

Just my opinion on the matter anyway

Re: Kimura Bushings

Alrighty, I have such a hard time getting the screws out and in because the pivots turn with them. I had to put the pivot areas in boiling water to get the screws out and now I am having a hard time getting the screws in and tightened. Any useful tips because this is really annoying?

Squeeze the handles together in the open position.

Re: Kimura Bushings

its surprising how much its overlooked, but it happens. Glad it worked for you, i heard that k1's come with red loctite and squeezing doesn't help.

Re: Kimura Bushings

Yes it does work well. It is very simple, but kinda acts like the 51's latch.

Re: Kimura Bushings

You do know you don't have to even touch the pivots for a spring latch mod on the Kimuras, right?

Yeah I know everyone says that but mine came with more play than what I have seen in some video of them.
