Re: Help Getting started

You would need a drill press, a belt grinder, a disk grinder and lots of taps. I say get some shity welding steal and start grinding there. Rilly it is not cheap

That or you can go to some highschools and ask for their scrap steel and if they are nice they will give it to you. :TU:

Re: Help Getting started

Well I work at a shop at the school so I guess I could get scraps from there and I know I can use that drill press but a belt grinder sounds expensive I've heard you can start with just a file if you're new to knife making... and any old steel will work?

Re: Help Getting started

for your first knife you should work on grinding styles and all that, as you get more advanced you can start picking up more quality steels.

Re: Help Getting started

I am not sure I would go with something simple first(I have only made two knives if you can call them that so my grind knowledge is pretty minimal) and work your way up from that. :TU:
