The IDunnoWTF5fingerTwirlLoopThing
The trouble I'm having with my trick is that there's a stall near the beginning of each loop (right after the rollover), and I can't figure out a way around it. Watch how much my arm moves right there. That's how much force I have to apply to get the knife where I want after the rollover, and it always results in slamming the safe handle into my knuckles before I can get them out of the way. I can't do a ricochet there, because (A) the whole point of the trick is to keep the knife moving in one direction on one axis and (B) I would chop my thumb off. The only other options I have would be to do an aerial off my little finger (not likely) or to find a second path back to the thumb that would avoid that weird rollover (I'll experiment).
Practicing this same trick with the same knife has only improved consistency over the past week - In other words, I can do more of the loops sequentially, but they haven't gotten any smoother over the past week. I'm curious to see what would happen if I used a significantly oversized knife. That would take a few days (at best) to build. I should point out that my hands aren't exactly small - that's a 8.75" inch knife in the vid.
Can you guys see the slowmotion clearly enough to duplicate it? Any suggestions?
