Basic Twirl

Also known as:
A Twirl.

Inventor:
Unknown, and so basic, likely unverifiable. Named and popularized by Clay of BalisongXtreme.

Origins:
Named and popularized by Clay of BalisongXtreme.

Brief Summary:
One of the most basic openings that involves unnecessary or redundant motion to simply opening the knife. It is a forward grip opening that involves rotating the safe handle between the index, middle, and ring fingers in series, pulling the blade and opposing handle with it, and involves several ricochets of both handle and blade spine, and changes of direction.

Process:

1. Start by holding the knife by the safe handle, closed, tang up.

2. Move your index finger up and away, and flip the bite handle open, so it hits the knuckes of your other fingers.

3. Move your index finger back, so it rests on top of the safe handle.

4. Flip the bite handle back, so it (and the spine of the blade) hits your index finger.

5. Move your thumb to the side of the safe handle opposite your index finger. The safe handle will be pinched between your thumb and index finger, but it will feel twisted upside down.

6. Move your other fingers out of the way. and twist your wrist so it feels right side up. This will whip the bite handle around to meet the safe handle and your thumb (give it a little twsit and it will miss your thumb). The knife will now be open, tang down.

When done correctly, it will look like only three steps: 2 + 3, 4, then 5 + 6
