Q: How do I embed a video into a wiki page?

A: You need to use the special wiki code below. On most video sites, the embed code they give is meant for HTML. Wikis don't like HTML.

The special wiki code is:

You'll need to replace with your videos URL. That URL can be found in the embed code the video site gives you. It typically comes right after src=, and it will be in quotes.

For example, Youtube gives an embed code like this:
<param name="movie" value=""></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embd src="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embd>

Towards the end of that, you'll see the src= is followed by ""
That's the part you want.

So you would copy and paste
into the wiki code mentioned above, to look like:

For Metacafe:
They give an embed code that looks like this:
<embd src="" width="400" height="345" wmode="transparent" pluginspage="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"> </embd><br><font size = 1><a href="">How to Make The Best Coffee Ever</a> - <a href="">The best home videos are here</a></font>

Near the very beginning of the code, you'll see src= followed by
That's the part you want.

So you'd copy and paste that part into the wiki code, like this:
